Marvelous USA and Vanillaware have announced that *Muramasa: Revenant Blades* will launch on February 4, 2027. It is a remastered version of the Japanese-inspired action RPG originally released for PlayStation Vita. The game combines both *Muramasa: Rebirth* and its side-story DLC, *Genroku Legends*, into one complete experience with enhanced visuals in high-definition.
In addition to graphical improvements, the game features an all-new English voice-over and other refinements that enhance gameplay. Players will explore a mysterious world set during Japan's Genroku era, where supernatural phenomena are rampant. The game offers six different playable protagonists, each with unique circumstances, goals, and journeys. These characters include one who is possessed by the cursed sword Muramasa, another seeking vengeance for their master, and others pursuing love.
*Muramasa: Revenant Blades* features controls that allow players to chain normal attacks into combos, parry enemy strikes, and perform aerial maneuvers. Players can also refine swords and hone skills through training sessions, unlocking new weapons and abilities as they progress. The game includes supplemental content such as an illustration gallery, character viewer, and replay mode for reliving events from the journey.
Players can assign up to three mastered skills for both ground and aerial combat, switching between them with the directional pad. Using a skill increases proficiency and its potency. The system supports different combinations so players can adapt their fighting style.
The package also includes a classic mode featuring the PlayStation Vita versions of *Muramasa: The Demon Blade* and *Genroku Legends*, presented with enhanced graphics. PlayStation Blog also shared a gameplay video alongside the release date announcement.
